Southampton Concert Wind Band & Otterbourne Brass invite you to:
To The Stars!
Chandler's Ford Methodist Church - Saturday 1st April 2017 at 7.00pm
Southampton Concert Wind Band and Otterbourne Brass reach for the sky with a thrilling musical display featuring some of the great and most popular music of our times.
The joint bands will peel off for some friendly aerial combat performing a selection of favourites including an extra-terrestrial encounter with E.T. or some of the film music at least! Composer Ron Goodwin's Aces High March was the soundtrack used to accompany the RAF's heroic defence of our skies in the 1969 movie The Battle of Britain and will be one of many highlights in our joint concert paying tribute to the RAF which has its centenary next year. Its motto is Per Ardua ad Astra - Through Adversity to the Stars. Expect thrills and spills as the two bands come together for a grand finale featuring another all-time favourite The Dam Busters March scored by Eric Coates for the 1955 movie of that name and later referenced in tribute by none other than the makers of Star Wars - now whatever happened to them?
Tickets (with refreshments included) are priced at £10 adults / £8 concessions / free entry for under 16 and can be purchased on the door or in advance by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
If you would like to book the band for any kind of function (private or public) please email us at email@example.com
We take every care to ensure that these dates and times are accurate but would recommend contacting the band or the venue if you plan to travel any distance to a concert - dates and times may sometimes get changed at the last minute and we don't want to cause any disappointment!
